Description
The 1:500'000 geotechnical map (GK500) of the Georesources Switzerland Group shows the subsurface strata classified according to lithological-petrographic criteria. The legend is designed to represent the technical use of the subsurface (extraction of mineral resources, building projects). In this representation, the rocks are subdivided according to their formation (genesis), e.g. deposits from rivers and glaciers, solidification of magma or transformation of crystalline rocks through the effects of pressure and temperature.
This dataset can be visualized on visualize.admin.ch.
